What Is Short-Term Accommodation?

Short-Term Accommodation (STA), also known as respite, is an NDIS-funded service that provides a safe and supportive place to stay for a short period. It gives participants a change of environment, helps them build life skills, and offers carers valuable time to rest.

Our STA service is ideal for:

  • Young people developing independence
  • Participants with complex behavioural needs
  • Carers seeking trusted, high-quality respite care
  • Those transitioning to Supported Independent Living
  • Families wanting a service that truly mentors and supports

We don’t just “look after” participants, we mentor, guide, and empower them.

Why Families and Coordinators Choose Make The Time for STA

Short-Term Accommodation That Feels Like Home

We provide a safe, welcoming environment where young people feel comfortable, respected, and supported, not just supervised. Every stay is structured to balance rest, routine, and enjoyment.

Purposeful Stays, Not Just Respite

Our STA programs include skill-building activities, community outings, and personal development opportunities so time away from home also helps participants grow in independence and confidence.

Clear Communication and Peace of Mind

Families and coordinators receive regular updates during each stay, including progress toward personal goals, so you know exactly how the participant is being supported.
